Tyler Perry Struggles With Weight Gain After Injury- “I Was So Close To My Goal, But Now I Feel Like I’m Starting Over”

Actor, director, producer, and screenwriter Tyler Perry brings in the, almost, New Year reminiscing on the past as he posts a throwback photo to Instagram of his muscular physique; which recently lost due to weight gained after tearing his meniscus. Perry mentions that during the time after his injury, he gained about 12 lbs., leaving him to feel discouraged about having to restart his fitness journey, yet again, after being so close to his goal.

He penned the inspirational caption:

“I took this picture this past September around my 52nd birthday. I was killing it in the gym. Right after that I tore my meniscus and was told I needed surgery. I’ve gained about 12 lbs since then. I was so close to my goal, but now I feel like I’m starting over. All of that to say, sometimes life will set you back, but as long as you have a breath in your body, you have to keep fighting. I’ll get it back when I recover. Happy New Year! Let’s get after it in 2022. Who’s with me?

A sentiment that many who have dealt with fluctuating weight have felt, but Perry isn’t going to let this minor setback keep him down.

It seems as if this year, Tyler Perry’s New Year will resolve to get back to his goal weight as soon as he recovers. If his daily affirmations are anything like what he wrote in his caption, we’re sure that he’ll make it back to his goal in no time.
