DJ Envy Calls ‘Selling Tampa’ Real Estate Reality Series ‘Embarrassing’ & Claims The Series Didn’t Show Any Homes Being Sold, Cast Members Respond To His Criticism

It’s safe to say that Netflix’s latest real estate series ‘Selling Tampa’ won’t be making DJ Envy’s “favorites list.”

‘Selling Tampa’ is one of the latest additions added to Netflix’s lineup that follows Tampa’s Black-owned and all-female real estate agency, Allure Realty. Despite the show being a hit and spending some time in the number 1 slot on Netflix’s “Top Ten” list, not everyone is here for it.

Radio personality DJ Envy, real name RaaShaun Casey, recently shared his true thoughts on the series and accused the show’s creator, Adam DiVello, of not showing any homes being sold by the ‘Selling Tampa’ cast. In an Instagram post, he compared ‘Selling Tampa’ to Netflix’s original real estate reality series ‘Selling Sunset,’ which was also created by Adam DiVelloDJ Envy captioned his post,

“The Same person created both these shows…. SMH. 1 show sold no homes… NONE!!! Kind of embarrassing..The other show sells homes..Hmmmm…Anybody else watches these shows??”

After sharing his criticism towards ‘Selling Tampa,’ it didn’t take long for the ladies of the series to defend their show. Anne-Sophie Petit-Frere replied in the comment section and said,

“Yes thank you so much for watching [prayer hand emoji] The show was filmed throughout a few months and chopped up to just a few episodes 30mins long. We had manyyy closings but I guess it’s hard to fit all of that content in just few episodes so they chose the “juicer” ones cause let’s face it people want to be entertained”

She then pointed out that ‘Selling Sunset’ is 4 seasons in, while her show is new.

“Let’s not compare our day 1 to selling sunset’s season 4 is all I’m saying”

Her co-star, Juawana Colbert, also responded to Envy’s opinion. She said,

“@djenvy thank you for watching #sellingtampa and for posting about the show. We welcome you and anyone else who didn’t the sales that was on the show to rewatch it. I personally was apart of one sale that was the largest Allure Realty has had.”

She added,

“My question for everyone on here is who did you use to buy or sale your property(s) did they look like us or no? See y’all on Season 2 ? Godwilling”

Sharelle Rosado, who is also on ‘Selling Tampa’ and is engaged to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, encouraged Envy to invite her on his popular radio show ‘The Breakfast Club’ so they can discuss his comments.

“@djenvy how about you have me on the breakfast club so we can discuss this ?? Place me on your calendar please #Sellingtampa”

She added,

“people are still comparing a season 1 to a season 4 and not understanding the storyline of Selling Tampa…it’s a new all black brokerage that is breaking into the luxury market…so of course they are not going to show all the normal homes we sell…I think that is what people are not understanding.”

Adam DiVello has yet to respond to what Envy had to say. However, last month he did share a post on IG expressing his excitement about the show’s success.
