India Arie has stepped into the New Year ready to air the music industry out!
4-time Grammy-award-winning artist India Arie, 46, is no stranger to success. According to reports, the ‘Brown Skin’ singer has sold over 3.3 million records domestically and 10 million worldwide. Her debut album, Acoustic Soul, hit number 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and her 3rd album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship, debuted at number 1.

Despite releasing a total of 7 studio albums and being in the music industry since the late 90s, India Arie has recently shared via her IG stories that everything isn’t always what it seems. The truth-telling posts started off with the songstress taking a trip down memory lane as she shared a couple of pictures of herself throughout her career. After posting the throwback images, India Arie revealed that viewing old pictures of herself only reminds her of how “trash the music industry is” and that the entertainment field is “racist, sexist, [and] deceitful.”

She continued and said that she’ll “never heal” from everything she went through and she was made to feel as if she wasn’t beautiful.

She added,

India Arie then said that the harsh journey was worth it in the end because of how much she’s grown. She also thanked those who wronged her throughout her career.
