Trinity Rodman Makes History After Signing Highest Paid Contract In The National Women’s Soccer League
Black girl magic is in full effect as Trinity Rodman, daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, secures a history making contract in the National Women’s Soccer League!
Soccer forward Trinity Rodman has just become the highest paid player in the National Women’s Soccer League. The 19-year old was drafted second overall last year to the Washington Spirit’s, and received the Rookie of the Year award after helping the team win the leagues championship.
During her rooking year, Trinity Rodman was also given the U.S. Soccer’s Young Player of the Year award, and set her first record in the sports history by becoming its youngest American goalscorer.
During an interview discussing the soccer stars contract, Trinity talked proudly of her accomplishments and also addressed the inevitability of being in the shadow of her father, Dennis Rodman.
“People are always going to — especially people who don’t know me and are new to the soccer world — see Dennis Rodman’s daughter. It comes with the name, but I definitely achieved what I wanted and [put out] the message I wanted, being so young, being a woman, being in the soccer world.”
Black Enterprise reports the history making contract is a four year deal worth over $1.1 million dollars, making her the sports highest paid player to date.
