Sherri Shepherd To Become ‘Permanent Guest Host’ On ‘The Wendy Williams Show’

It looks like a big change may be occuring with ‘The Wendy Williams Show“! According to sources, Sherri Shepherd, 54, is finalizing a deal to become a permanent host on “The Wendy Williams Show” beginning in September, which will mark the 15th season of the hit talk show. Sources say the deal is almost completed, and everyone involved predicts it will be signed and official in the very near future. This news come just a couple months after Sherri Shepherd’s friend, journalist Jawn Murray denied rumors that she had plans to permanently replace Wendy Williams. The Virginia native left a comment about the hosting rumors on theJasmineBRAND’s Instagram page in November and shared,

“I love that people are talking about my friend [Sherri Shepherd] going back to host in December for a week (tune in Dec 13-17)… but the rest of this story from Radar is fake news!”

He added,

“Sherri will at some point host her own show and move ‘where the money resides’ lol; I’m just saying that this story is a fabrication.”

Reportedly, this new deal is also contingent on Wendy Williams’ progress. If Wendy gets better, there’s allegedly an open door for her to return. If, however, it appears she is unable to return, then they would change the name of the show as early as September.

As previously reported, Wendy Williams, 57, has yet to return to her popular talk show due to ongoing medical issues she’s currently dealing with. Since the start of the 13th season– which premiered in October 2021 after multiple delays– Wendy Williams’ celebrity friends have stepped up to help host the talk show during her absence. One guest host that Wendy’s fans have seemed to really enjoy is actress/TV personality Sherri Shepherd.

The news of Shepherd’s pending deal for The Wendy Williams Show comes as major networks begin planning their daytime lineups for next season. The Wendy Williams Show, which is expected to be renamed, has been a staple on the Fox stations from its inception, so it’s no surprise that execs want to continue on with the hit daytime show.

This new deal would also mark Sherri Shepherd’s return to being a full-time daytime talk show host following her seven years as co-host of The View.
