Nipsey Hussle’s Family Opening 2nd Marathon Clothing Store In L.A. Later This Year

The Marathon continues! Family of hip-hop icon Nipsey Hussle is honoring his dreams and memory with the opening of a second location of his signature business The Marathon Clothing Store.

Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle was a beacon of inspiration to many people worldwide, but especially the members of his L.A. community where he shifted the community environment after opening his popular clothing store, The Marathon Clothing Store, on Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue. While the original store was closed for business after the Grinding All My Life rapper was shot and killed in front of it, the artist’s family chose to keep it open as a visiting site, and with the intention of seeing through the late rapper’s grand plans for a second location.

According to Nipsey Hussle’s brother, Samiel Asghedom, the family purchased some commercial property in the Melrose arts district in L.A., which is where they plan to open Marathon’s second location.

When discussing his passion behind seeing his younger brothers dreams fully realized, Samiel Asghedom said:

“This second location is a dream that Nipsey always had, and it’s important that his kids are able to see his plans fulfilled”.

The second location opening for the Marathon Clothing Store is just part of the Victory Lap rappers master plans for uplifting his L.A. community. According to Samiel Asghedom, the family also intends to move forwards with plans to convert the surrounding commercial property they own next to the Marathon flagship store into a community space offering free music lessons for youth. There’s additional long term plans to build a youth center, reopen a famed community barshop, Steve’s Barber Shop, and give youth free haircuts – as well as build a museum or public site that continues to honor Nipsey’s memory.

Samiel Asghedom said:

“We want a place where tourists and fans can come to pay homage versus a place that was all about sales.”

There is currently no official date set for the launch of the second Marathon Clothing Store location.
