Joe Budden Says Megan Thee Stallion Is Not A Superstar: “You’re not a superstar if you can’t sell an album”
Despite her major success and popularity, Joe Budden doesn’t think Megan Thee Stallion has reached superstar status just yet!
During a recent episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast”, the rapper turned reality tv star turned Podcaster felt as though the Houston rapper is not yet a superstar. He expressed quite passionately that Meg can’t be classified as a superstar because of her album sales. Joe said,
“You’re not a superstar if you can’t sell an album. What the f*ck are we talking about right now. What stops her from being a superstar if we’re taking out sales? She ain’t sold sh*t. Got every brand deal in the world, but also has all the backing from mad different people. She’s got a lot going on.”

Megan Thee Stallion
Many would disagree with Joe Budden seeing that Megan Thee Stallion’s 2020 debut album, Good News, went platinum, while her other recent projects have gone gold. Joe was still adamant that her record sales aren’t enough.
He continued,
“Y’all are just mixing rules up… You still got to know how to sell a f*cking album. When Adele come out, you gotta move. When n***s come out, you gotta move. When a superstar comes out, the rest of you mortal, mere minion n***s have to move. Nobody does that for Lil Nas X, nobody does that for the seven Meg Thee Stallion releases that dropped over the past two years. What are we saying?”
It’s safe to say Joe Budden’s comments may come off a bit controversial. Some would suggest Megan Thee Stallion has achieved much success over the past three years with a Platinum-certified album, two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits, and a slew of Top 40 singles as both a featured artist and lead artist.
