Although his clean rap sheet is expected to keep him out of prison, the actor could be forced behind bars. According to a source, Smollett is looking at:
“Up to three years in prison for each of the five felony counts of disorderly conduct — the charge filed for lying to police — of which he was convicted.”
Due to the nonviolent nature of the crime, he’ll likely serve about a year in county jail, probation, or community service.
Smollett’s head lawyer reportedly announced that he will request to have the charges dismissed ahead of the hearing. However, the chances of Judge James Linn granting the motion are slim.

In Dec. 2021, Jussie Smollett was found guilty of staging a false hate crime. Back in Jan. 2019, Smollett alleged that two men wearing ski masks attacked him outside his Chicago apartment complex. He claimed that the men shouted racial and homophobic slurs as they beat him.
