Megan Thee Stallion Counter Sued By Her Label, Claims Last Album Wasn’t Really An Album & She Owes More Albums

There seems to be no end in sight for legal troubles of Megan Thee Stallion, especially if her record label has anything to do with it.

According to reports, 1501 Certified Entertainment is counter-suing the “Savage” rapper on the grounds that her last album wasn’t actually an album . They said she still owes them recordings and money. The album, Something For Thee Hotties, published in 2021, apparently didn’t count as an album because it was only 29 minutes long and consisted of previously released content.

Megan Thee Stallion responded to lawsuit in a series of tweets. She said,

“First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me?”

She also called the label greedy saying,

“My lawyers asked him for an expense report(money 1501 supposedly has spent on ME)… why this grown ass man put his jewelry and chains on there… lord free me from this joke ass label”

Her lawyer also disputed the label’s claims. Brad Hancock told TMZ,

“This is yet another absurd attempt by 1501 to disregard Megan’s album and squeeze more money and more free work out of her for as long as possible. We will ask the court to protect Megan from this type of abuse.”

As previously reported, Megan Thee Stallion recently filed a new lawsuit against 1501 Certified Entertainment over what does constitute an album. Her lawsuit claims 1501 informed Megan Thee Stallion about two months after the release that it does not qualify as an “Album,” and does not satisfy her “Minimum Recording Commitment.”

Crawford posted a message to Instagram shortly afterwards, accusing Megan Thee Stallion of lying and bullying.

Megan Thee Stallion initially sued 1501 Certified Entertainment in 2020 after revealing she didn’t fully understand her contract when she signed with the label. At the time, the “Captain Hook” rapper petitioned a judge to void the contract, claiming that despite having over 1 billion streams and selling over 300,000 individual track downloads, the label had only paid her $15,000. She was also denied the right to renegotiate her contract.

Apart from the record label feud, Megan Thee Stallion is also embroiled in a legal battle with Canadian rapper Torey Lanez. Megan Thee Stallion accused Torey Lanez of shooting her in the foot following a party at Kylie Jenner‘s Hollywood Hills mansion in July 2020, when the two appeared to be good friends. Torey Lanez faces charges including felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and having an unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He continues to double down on his innocence.
