Nicki Minaj Accused Of Shading Multiple Female Rappers In Tweet: ‘Grow Up’
Nicki Minaj is all about uplifting women and making space for other female rappers, but some social media users think she just threw shade at a bunch of them.
Nicki Minaj, 39, took to Twitter on March 22 to react to an article about why she’s “one of the greatest of all time.” In it, the writer praises her contributions to rap and the impact she’ll forever have on the genre.
“Whether she’s going on an unexpected freestyle or guest-feature run, giving a rare interview, or speaking her mind in a wild Twitter rant, Nicki Minaj’s presence — be it aural, digital, or visual — is absolutely enthralling, and when she’s on hiatus, you can tell,” reads a quote from the article.

“Despite the welcomed contributions of women like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion City Girls, and Doja Cat over the past few years, female rap still feels incomplete without Nicki Minaj’s presence and output, and that alone illustrates how important she is to Hip-Hop, as a genre, and as a culture,” the writer continues.

Nicki Minaj posted a screenshot of that excerpt on Twitter, except the names of Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, and Doja Cat were all scribbled out. Some thought that was a shot at the rappers and accused Minaj of being messy.

“I don’t normally comment on your post directly but, you are acting extremely immature and childish,” read one tweet. “Grow up!! Act graceful and poised like the ‘queen’ you claim to be.”

Others defended the “Blick Blick” rapper.
“Nicki crossed out the names so yall wouldnt think she was being messy, and yall still think she was being messy,” one person wrote.

Minaj has yet to comment on the speculation. But what do you think about her tweets? Let us know in the comments.
