Jada Pinkett-Smith Speaks Out For The First Time Amid Will Smith & Chris Rock Oscar Controversy: ‘This Is A Season For Healing’
Jada Pinkett-Smith is breaking her silence!
The ‘Red Table Talk’ host is speaking out two days after husband Will Smith hit Chris Rock onstage at the 94th annual Academy Awards on Sunday (Mar.27). The 50-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday (Mar.29) and shared a post about ‘healing’ while continuing to limit her Instagram comments. The message read,
“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”

Jada Pinkett-Smith’s statement comes after Will Smith 53, issued an apology for his behavior at the Oscars. On Monday (Mar.28) he took to his Instagram and wrote,
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”

He went on to apologize to Chris Rock, writing:
“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness….
I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress.”
As previously reported, Will Smith made a shocking move Sunday night (Mar. 27) when he charged onto the Oscars stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock across the face. After Rock joked to Smith that he was looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” Smith walked up to the stage and slapped him. After sitting back down, Smith shouted at Rock to “keep my wife’s name out of your f*** mouth.” Jada Pinkett Smith reportedly suffers from alopecia and has previously been very vocal about how the condition has affected her life.
