Oscars Producer Will Packer Says Says LAPD Was Prepared to Arrest Will Smith: They said, ‘We will go get him’
New details continue to surface surrounding Will Smith’s altercation with Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Will Packer, who produced the Oscars, is speaking out about the incident.
In a preview clip shared by ABC News, the producer said that the LAPD was ready to arrest Smith. However, Rock said no, declining to press charges.

Packer explained,
“They were saying, you know, ‘This is battery,’ was the word they use in that moment. They said, ‘We will go get him; we are prepared. We’re prepared to get him right now. You can press charges. We can arrest him.’”
However, Rock declined.
Smith has since issued a public apology.
