Internet users were not impressed with Paula Patton’s cooking skills.

While sharing her mother’s fried chicken recipe, the actress caught flack from social media users who noted the lack of seasoning and washing while preparing the food.

“Jumping The Broom” star Paula Patton left fans in a state of confusion over her kitchen skills. In a now viral video posted lasted month, Paula can be seen flouring chicken, and then seasoning the poultry while its cooking in the grease. Social media users were quick to virally critique her chef capabilities.

The Tiktok user who initially started the viral conversation offered commentary as Paula prepared the dish. Quickly, she noted that the 46-year-old actress neglected to clean her chicken properly, only briefly rinsing the meat in cold water. Arguably more important, Paula then proceeds to flour the chicken before adding any seasoning. The “Sacrifice” actress later adds Lawry’s seasoning salt, pepper, and paprika to the frying pan while the meat cooks.

Following the video circulating, social media users continued to double down on the interesting chicken recipe. Some criticizing the lackluster seasoning of the meal, attributing it to her mother being white.

While some users came to Paula’s defense. Arguing the ongoing debate on whether or not chicken should be washed at all.

A few users even joked that poor cooking is what led to Paula’s divorce. The actress was married to R&B singer Robin Thicke in 2005 and the pair legally separated in 2015.
