EXCLUSIVE: A ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Movie Is Allegedly In The Works

It looks like we may be getting a “Love & Hip Hop” movie!

theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports that a “Love & Hip Hop movie is allegedly in the works! Sources tell us that the fictional project is in the early stages and a script is currently being created. We’re also told that some of the creators of the reality franchise are involved with production for the upcoming film.

Love & Hip Hop documents the personal and professional lives of several hip hop and R&B musicians, performers, managers, and record producers residing in various metropolitan areas of the United States.

The original franchise version, Love & Hip Hop: New York, premiered on March 6, 2011. Its success resulted in several spin-offs based in Atlanta, Hollywood, and Miami. Fans of the series say the Atlanta spin-off really put the franchise on the map with its polarizing cast and storylines, including the infamous love triangle between Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez and Mimi Faust.

While the franchise has garnered a lot of controversy since its inception, often criticized for portraying a negative narrative and appearing to fabricate some of its storylines, it is one of the highest-rated reality programs in cable television history!

Love & Hip Hop” was created and produced by media mogul and entrepreneur, Mona Scott-Young and executive producer, Stefan Springman. In addition to creating the series, Mona Scott-Young was co-owner of the management company Violator which represented a deep roster of distinguished Grammy-winning artists including Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and Fantasia.
