Update #1: A$AP was booked into jail at 12:42 p.m. and bail was set at $550,000, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department booking report. He was released less than three hours later after posting bond, the records show, and has a court date set for Aug. 17.
Original Story: A$AP Rocky was reportedly arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday (Apr.20) in connection to a November 2021 shooting.
According to reports, A$AP Rocky, 33, (real name Rakim Mayers) was arriving on a private plane from Barbados, where he had been on vacation with his girlfriend, Rihanna. However, upon arrival at LAX, he was met by police officers at the terminal and taken away in handcuffs.

According to police reports, the “Praise The Lord” rapper had been under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for a Nov. 6 shooting near Vista Del Mar and Selma Ave. in California. The shooting victim, who survived, later told police that A$AP Rocky allegedly approached him with a handgun. The victim claimed the rapper shot at him three to four times and believed one of the bullets grazed his left hand. Surprisingly, the shooting had not yet been reported to the media.
A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Alan Jackson, confirmed that his client had indeed been arrested.
According to reports, LAPD made the arrest with assistance from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations team.
