NeNe Leakes Accuses Andy Cohen Of ‘Sabotaging’ Negotiations For Her Own Radio Show
Nene Leakes is claiming that Andy Cohen and NBC Universal went out of their way to “blackball” her in the industry and “sabotaged” negotiations surrounding her potential Sirius XM radio show!
According to RadarOnline, In her 74-page lawsuit filed against Andy Cohen, Bravo, and the producers behind RHOA, NeNe Leakes highlights a specific matter where she was allegedly in talks to start a new show on Sirius XM radio. She said the defendants “interfered with, and sabotaged, this effort.” NeNe claims Andy Cohen had talked to execs about her behind closed doors. The suit says,
“Cohen has admitted that he told Sirius XM that Mrs. Leakes would demand a lot of money for any role on a radio show, an obvious effort to prevent her from getting such a deal.”
Furthermore, the reality star claims Bravo and the producers of RHOA lost all interest in developing her own spin-off show only after she started to discuss the alleged racism she experienced while working for the network.
As previously reported, Nene Leakes sued the parties behind the hit show, claiming they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment. NeNe accuses the defendants of ignoring her complaints about former co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann. NeNe claims Kim made several racially-offensive statements while filming. She alleges that the network and producers often ignored her and even told her to stop speaking about the matter publicly. NeNe also says Kim never suffered consequences for her actions but instead was given her own spin-off show.
In the suit, the iconic reality star claims she was
“denied the right to do other work other than filming for RHOA when other housewives (who had not spoke out against racially- offensive treatment) were permitted the right to do other work.”
NeNe Leakes adds that Bravo denied her right to appear at the Soul Train Awards in November 2018, claiming “an alleged conflict with the RHOA season opener.” However, NeNe is adamant there was “no conflict” as the two shows aired a week apart. The suit alleges her co-star Kandi Burruss was given clearance to appear on Celebrity Big Brother the same season,
“which aired on a major network at the same time as RHOA – creating a direct conflict.”
It appears the drama between NeNe and the famed network kicked into high gear after season 11 of the hit reality show came to an end. According to the RHOA vet’s lawsuit, after filming season 11,
“the retaliatory, discriminatory and harassing treatment of Mrs. Leakes continued.”
NeNe claims she was not offered a contract for season 12 until after the season had already begun filming a substantial number of episodes, noting this was not how it typically works. Her lawyer writes,
“This was not typical, and it was retaliatory. She was also again offered a lowered number of guaranteed episodes than she should have been offered.”
NeNe’s allegations don’t end there. She’s claiming that Andy Cohen and NBC/Bravo continue to “blacklist” and “sabotage her attempts to secure work beyond RHOA.”
