Young Thug & Gunna Indicted on Racketeering Charges + Thug Accused Of Giving YSL Members Permission To Murder YFN Lucci In Jail
Young Thug has been arrested in Atlanta. The arrest took place yesterday (May 9th).
According to reports, the arrest was based on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. It’s a result of a larger grand jury indictment that names 28 members and associates of his label and imprint YSL (Young Slime Life/Young Stoner Life/Young Slatt Life).
Thug’s friend and rapper Gunna was among the names listed in the 56-count indictment. Gunna was also charged with conspiring to violate RICO. Other known names also indicted include Yak Gotti, PeeWee Roscoe, and Thug’s brother Unfoonk. The indictment refers to YSL as a “criminal street gang” founded in 2012 with an affiliation with the Bloods.
Thug and Gunna’s fellow defendants face additional charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, drugs and weapons charges. Yak Gotti and four others were charged with murder of Donovan Thomas, Jr., who is described by prosecutors as “a rival gang member.” Thug is also accused of renting a car that was later used “in the commission of” that murder.
In the indictment one of the charges is Conspiracy to Commit Murder. This section claims that two YSL members Christian Eppinger (listed in the indictment as “Bhris”) and Antonio Sumlin (“Obama”) discussed their desire to “obtain the permission” of Thug to make an attempt on the life of YFN Lucci.
Prosecutors allege that two associates of YSL, CHRISTIAN EPPINGER and ANTONIO SUMLIN, worked to get permission of @youngthug to make a 2nd attempt to murder @YFNLUCCI while he’s jailed in Fulton County. @wsbtv @MarkWinneWSB
