Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West ‘Told Me My Career’s Over’ After Styling Herself Following Their Separation

Kim Kardashian is finding her place in the fashion world, despite what Kanye “Ye” West may think of her outfits!

On the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian, 41, opened up to her sister Kourtney Kardashian, 43, about insecurities she has surrounding her sense of style now that she’s no longer married to Kanye West, 44.

In November 2021, Kim Kardashian began styling herself after being with the Yeezy designer for nearly a decade. While speaking with Kourtney Kardashian during the episode, the SKIMS founder shared,

“I got to a point where I would ask [Kanye] for advice for everything down to what I wear. Even now I’m having panic attacks, like, what do I wear?”

According to Kim, she was “so nervous” to style herself for the Wall Street Journal Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards because her outfit wasn’t “pre-vetted” as usual. After winning the Brand Innovator Award for SKIMS, Kim ultimately chose a skintight chocolate leather dress from her SKIMS x Fendi collection to rock at the event ceremony.

However, it appears the socialites’ desired look didn’t meet Kanye West’s standards. Her former husband and stylist held nothing back as he criticized her outfit of choice, comparing it to something worn by the cartoon character Marge Simpson. Kim revealed,

“Then he [Kanye] called me afterwards. He told me my career’s over and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”

Kim and Kanye began dating in 2011 and were married for almost seven years before Kim filed for divorce in February of 2021. At the beginning of their relationship, Kanye began styling her and reportedly threw out all her clothes and shoes to change her entire wardrobe.
