MTV Producing ‘Jersey Shore’ Spinoff ‘Buckhead Shore’, + Original Cast Members Issue Joint Statement Disapproving Of Reboot
The Jersey Shore craze is headed to the south!
According to reports, MTV is currently filming Buckhead Shore, which will be a spin-off of the 2009 TV series Jersey Shore. Reportedly, the new reality show will follow the lives of an Atlanta based friend group, “making a name for themselves in the ‘Beverly Hills of the South’ as they escape their everyday life and head to the lake shore to let loose.”
The series will be produced the original shows creators, who struck TV magic by introducing Snooki, JWoww, Pauly D, Vinny, Mike “The Situation”, and the other original castmates. It seems, however, that the OG shore group is not in support of the reboot.
The Jersey Shore cast used their social media accounts to express discontent with MTV’s decision to create a spin-off series. In a joint statement, they said:
“As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see.”
“Please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers.”
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino also let off a few round of tweets about the matter, writing:
“There is no substitute for lightning in the bottle”
At this time there is no further information on the cast slated to star in Buckhead Shore, nor has a release date been confirmed.
