Kanye West Teams Up W/ McDonald’s To Redesign Packaging

After taking a social media hiatus, musical artist formerly known as Kanye West, has made his return with a new business venture!

On Monday (May 23), Kanye “Ye” West took to Instagram to reveal his latest endeavor, a McDonald’s collaboration that is in the works to create a new design for McDonald’s packaging.

Following the entrepreneur’s break from the social media platform for the last few months, Kanye West posted a photo that seemingly reveals the new design for the franchise and captioned the post:

“Ye teams up with legendary Muji industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa to reimagine McDonald’s packaging.”

The post comes shortly after West posted the new collaboration via his IG stories that read:

“Next week it’s the fries.”

The mind behind the creative design isn’t anything new for West, as he made clear early on in his career that he had interest in fashion and a desire to work in the clothing design industry.

West has also had crazy successful collaborations with clothing brands The Gap and Balenciaga. As previously reported, Ye (founder of Yeezy) signed a 10-year partnership deal with clothing retailer Gap in 2020, launching “Yeezy Gap.”

The 44-year-old rapper/fashion designer was granted the opportunity to collaborate with one of his favorite fashion designers, Balenciaga creative director, Demna Gvasalia. The luxury fashion house set out to join “Yeezy Gap” for a 2022 global launch called “Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga.”

Per reports, the “Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga” partnership could allegedly rack in close to $1 billion dollars in sales by next year, 2023. The team-up appears to have been beneficial, as Gap’s CEO shared that the Yeezy hoodie acquired the most online sales in one day from a single item in Gap’s history.
