Megan Thee Stallion Reveals How Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Resulted In Her Decision To Sign W/ Jay-Z’s Roc Nation
Megan Thee Stallion recently shared how Flamin’ Hot Cheetos enticed her to sign with the entertainment agency Roc Nation.
On June 23, Megan Thee Stallion, 27, jokingly revealed during her panel at Cannes Lions that she signed with Roc Nation because Jay-Z, 52, greeted her with multiple platters of the spicy snack.
Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete, recalled the moments she met Jay-Z, the founder of the famed record label. The Houston rapper said,
“I thought I was coming to meet the leader and it was just going to be Roc Nation staff like showing me around. And then Jay-Z walks in the room, and I’m like, ‘I didn’t know Jay-Z was coming to my meeting!’”

Megan continued,
“But he comes in the room and he has like six platters of Hot Cheetos and he’s like, ‘I heard you like Hot Cheetos!’ And I was sold.”
Rap icon and record executive Jay-Z founded Roc Nation in 2008. Megan signed a management deal with Roc Nation in 2019.

The “Plan B” rapper initially signed with Carl Crawford’s record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, in 2018. However, Megan and Carl Crawford, 40, have been involved in litigation since 2020. Things turned sour ever since the “Hot Girl” sued 1501 for allegedly stopping her from releasing new music in a record contract dispute.
As previously reported, Megan seemingly shaded Carl Crawford’s record company by sticking up her middle finger when “I’m the 1501 queen” played while performing her hit song “Realer.”
Carl got word of the resurfaced clip and wasn’t too fond of his estranged artist dissing him and his label. He reacted via his IG stories and responded,
“See I really just be mining my business…Nah F*ck U Seahorse. Song should be called Faker than Fake.”
Carl dissed Megan’s manager as well and added,
“And F*ck T. Farris too u b*tch.”
