R. Kelly Removed From Suicide Watch After Suing Jail For Allegedly Violating His Rights
Looks like R&B singer R. Kelly had a big win against the jail where he’s currently being held.
As previously reported, Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Brooklyn placed Robert ‘R.’ Kelly on suicide watch last week, following the musician’s 30 years prison sentence. However lawyers for R. Kelly moved quickly to have the decision reversed, claiming Kelly was not suicidal, and being placed on suicide watch violated his rights. A judge reportedly agreed on the matter, forcing the detention center to the artist from isolation immediately.

R. Kelly was convicted on several sexual abuse charges in New York prior to his lengthy prison sentence. Included in the indictment, was a racketeering charge which reportedly held 14 acts of sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping, bribery, and sex trafficking.
Following the “Ignition” artist being removed from suicide watch, his lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, reportedly issued a statement, writing:
“Not surprising that as soon as the BOP was going to have to account for their decisions, they removed him to moot out the motion.”

However, Jennifer suggests they will continue to pursue the lawsuit, concluding:
Our lawsuit will proceed nonetheless,”
