Despite being separated since 2020, Trick Daddy recently spoke about wanting to stay married to his estranged wife, Joy Young.

During an interview with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” Miami rapper Trick Daddy spoke on allowing his wife to date other people while still legally married to him. The hip-hop artist shared with the hosts that he only wants to tie the knot one time throughout his life span. When show host Angela Yee asked about his opinion pertaining to the concept of divorce, Trick Daddy replied:

“The only way I’ll get divorced, is if my girl want me to marry her. In my mind right now, I’m like a Duke point-guard. One & done.”

Trick Daddy, born Maurice Young, went on and claimed that if his estranged wife, entrepreneur Joy Young, wanted a divorce from him then she would no longer use his last name. Interviewer Angela Yee noted the fact that the pair have been separated for a while, but are dating other people, which is Trick’s preference. He added:

“And leave it like that. She going to hell with me.”

The “Nann” rapper continued:

“I allow her to date. But now, I need to start evaluating these dudes who you’re messing with ‘cause these is my boyfriends and husbands in-laws.”

After the radio hosts asked, “how do you have a boyfriend-in-law Trick?” The 47-year-old Florida native explained:

“Because that’s my wife’s boyfriend so he’s my boyfriend-in-law, and I’m his girlfriend’s husband so I’m his husband-in-law. And we need to get along and you need to take care of my wife. They need to do what they need to do.”

According to reports, Trick married Joy Young, 45, in 2003 but they parted ways in 2020. The pair appeared on the popular VH1 series “Love & Hip-Hop: Miami” in the year 2018, where their problems were well documented.

The rapper reportedly has a whopping 10 kids, with his youngest being born in 2017. Trick and Joy do not share any children together.
