DJ Tim Westwood Accused Of Having Sex W/ A 14-Year-Old Girl In His 30s
DJ Tim Westwood is facing some serious allegations.
A BBC News documentary called “Tim Westwood: Hip-Hop’s Open Secret” was recently released. The project spotlights more than two decades’ worth of sexual misconduct allegations against British DJ and entertainer Tim Westwood.
According to the doc, a woman named Esther is claiming that Tim Westwood has sex with her on multiple occasions when she was only 14-years-old. It has been alleged that Westwood, who was in his 30s at the time, and the woman started their relationship after they met at a nightclub in Arch in Vauxhall in 1990. The woman shared that their relationship became sexual when Westwood, 64, allegedly started kissing her before having sex with her.
Esther, who is now in her 40s, said:
“I kind of thought it was normal but that’s because I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation.”
She continued:
“It wasn’t a relationship and it wasn’t about love, it was just a thing, and a thing you couldn’t discuss with anybody.”
Esther eventually attempted to take her own life because of the alleged inappropriate relationship. After years of analyzing, Esther now feels as though she was groomed by Westwood.
Esther is one of many women who accused the DJ of sexual misconduct. One woman claimed she was 16 when Westwood started his “controlling” relationship with her. Another woman claimed she was 20-years-old when the DJ allegedly pushed his penis into her mouth after she resisted. In addition to that, two more women alleged they were in their mid-teens when Westwood sexually assaulted them.
A woman named Lydia said she was 16-year-old and Westwood was in his 40s when they began their 18-month sexual relationship. Lydia accused the DJ of isolating her from her loved ones. She said:
“It was quite controlling in lots of ways.”
She continued:
‘I had a home phone, and he demanded to have the password to it so he would often listen to my messages.”
She added:
“I wish more people had stepped in, I wish the adults who were around him, the bodyguards, the secretaries, the people who I would say were bystanders.”
Following the allegations, Westwood resigned from his weekly Captial Xtra radio show “until further notice.” A representative on behalf of Westwood said:
“Tim Westwood strongly denies all allegations of inappropriate behaviour.”
The representative continued:
“In a career that has spanned 40 years, there have never been any complaints made against him officially or unofficially.”
The representative added:
“Tim Westwood strongly rejects all allegations of wrongdoing.”
The documentary shows Westwood behaving questionably with women as he appears clutching a woman in the club, looking in her top, asking her:
“I like your rack – is it real?”
Westwood was also shown cat-calling a woman as she hurried to cover up. He shouted from a deck:
“Yo baby you don’t have to put your top back on”
The documentary also disclosed him refusing to let go of a woman’s arm after he allegedly whispered something sexual in her ear while backstage at a festival.
