Kanye Wants To Meet W/ Gap Chairman After Revealing Yeezy Collaboration Sold $14 Million In Hoodies: Bob, I Need To Meet With You!
Kanye West (also known as Ye) is basking in the success of his Yeezy Gap deal.
In an Instagram post, the DONDA 2 artist revealed that he spent part of his mom’s birthday on a call with some members of Gap’s leadership team, including chairman Bob Fisher and chairman/interim CEO Bob Martin.
Kanye West said,
“On my moms birthday I was able for the first time to sit in on a Gap call with Bob Martin, Bob Fisher and other leads of the company. Bob Martin was one of the most inspiring people I’ve heard speak in business. He kept saying go to the stores on the call. I came to Gap to put good product directly in stores.”
He continued by sharing that the partnership has led to two of the biggest sales day in Gap history, generating $14 million dollars in revenue off just the ‘perfect Black hoodie’.
“We’ve had 2 of the biggest sales day in Gap history since I’ve been there. We sold 14 million dollars worth of the perfect black hoodie at 80 dollars a hoodie off of a television commercial that was ran one time. I came to Gap to bring good quality products to the people at all times. Bob I need to meet with you as soon as possible.”
Kanye West, 44, and his apparel company partnered with Gap for the first time in 2020, establishing “Yeezy Gap.”
As previously reported, Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of Balenciaga, also teamed up with Ye for a Gap collaboration called “Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga,” which has had two installments so far this year. Ye previously said,
“It is a vision come true to work with Gap and Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga, to make incredible product available to everyone at all times.”
Gap reportedly expected their Yeezy collaboration to generate $1 billion in sales by 2025, but recent projections reportedly show the “Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga” helping the brand hit the mark by 2023.
