FAMU Opens Investigation After Student Poses Nude On Campus For Graduation Photos, Social Media Users React: Being Naked In Public Is A Crime

FAMU is trending for an interesting reason.

As summer comes to an end, many summer graduates have taken to the internet to share their grad photos with the world. On Friday (July 29) a Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) student named Terica Williams, 24, caused a lot of commotion after sharing her controversial graduation photos online. Williams recently graduated with her Masters degree in Counselor Education.

In the now-viral image, Williams can be seen posing nude in front of the famed Rattler statue located on FAMU’s campus. She captioned her post,

“Anybody who knows me knows that I’ve been dressing provocative my whole life. There’s a lot of assumptions that have came with me accepting my body. A lot of people questioned my capabilities and intelligence solely based on how I choose to dress.”

She added,

“As I’m standing here with my Masters Degree at the tender age of 24, I am the living proof that clothes do not define you. I encouraged every body to embrace their bodies and step outside social norms.”

As you may already know, FAMU is a historically black university located in Tallahassee, Florida. After Williams shared her grad photo online, it didn’t take long for the university to issue a response. According to the official Twitter page of the HBCU, the school’s admin staff are aware of the situation and an investigation has been opened.

Many social media users weighed in on the risqué photoshoot as well. One Twitter user mentioned that following FAMU’s investigation, Williams may have to register as a sex offender.
