Charlamagne Tha God Doesn’t Like The Way The ‘Wendy Williams Show’ Ended: I Want To See Her Go Out Healthy & On Her Own Terms

It looks like Charlamagne Tha God isn’t too fond of how the ‘Wendy Williams Show‘ ended!

During a recent interview, the controversial radio host had some kind words to say about his old friend, Wendy Williams. You may recall, Williams gave Charlemagne Tha God the opportunity to work on her New York radio show early in his career and took him on as a protégé.

In his recent interview, ‘The Breakfast Club‘ host said he was saddened by the unfortunate end to Wendy Williams’ TV career earlier this year. He explained,

“I didn’t like the way [the “Wendy Williams Show”] ended because I don’t want to see her go out like that. I want to see her go out healthy and on her own terms,”

he said, while comparing Williams’ TV situation to “a basketball player or football player” who’s “one of the greatest of all time, but their career ends in injury.”

As previously reported, ‘The Wendy Williams Show‘ came to an end on Friday (June 17) after 13 years on the air. Actress Sherri Shepherd, 55, had the pleasure of being one of the celebrity guests who filled in for Wendy Williams during the final season of her talk show. Wendy Williams was absent during the final 13th season due to her battle with Graves Disease and reported ongoing health issues. Sherri Shepherd is set to replace the series with her own talk show that will air this fall.

Since the ending of her show, Wendy Williams has been teasing fans with the idea of starting her own podcast! The famous talk show host surprised supporters last month with a brand new Instagram account named ‘The Wendy Experience Podcast’ which seemingly promotes her upcoming podcast. In the first post for the page, Wendy Williams shared a video of her on her laptop in which we hear someone say,

“Wendy Doing A Show, Not a TV Show Sorry it is a WENDY EXPERIENCE! STAY TUNED!”

Then on Thursday (July 7), Wendy shared a picture of herself and seemingly teased fans with an upcoming project. She captioned the post:
“When one door closes a LARGER one Opens! Last Day on SET! #stay#tuned#thewendyexperience#loading#nyc”
