Kanye West Accuses Adidas of Creating ‘Yeezy Day’ Without His Approval: God Step In
Kanye West asks for God to “step in” as he calls Adidas out for making decisions without his approval.
According to reports, in 2019 The fashion giant Adidas launched “Yeezy Day,” which is aimed at honoring their collaborator Kanye West and his brand Yeezy. This special day marks Adidas’ annual release of Kanye West’s shoe line at retail prices. Despite many sneakerheads being here for the holiday, it seems like Kanye isn’t a fan.

The rapper recently shared an Instagram direct message calling out Adidas for creating the holiday without his consent. In the message, the 45-year-old blasts Adidas for bypassing his creative direction and approval for Yeezy Day, hiring a general manager, bringing back older styles, and stealing colorways among other accusations.
In part, Kanye West said:
“Adidas made up the Yeezy day idea without my approval then went and brought back older styles without my approval picked colors and named them without my approval went and hired people that worked for me without my approval.”

The fashion designer launched his first collaboration with Adidas in 2015 and according to reports, he retains 100% ownership of his brand along with total creative control. This isn’t the first time Kanye West has clashed with Adidas. This past June he accused Adidas of copying his Yeezy slides design.
In a since-deleted post on his Instagram page, Kanye West addressed his frustration to Adidas’ CEO, Kasper Rørsted. He said,
“This is YE driving down the same street Kobe passed on Maybe I feel that Mamba spirit right now To Kasper I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more To all sneaker culture To every ball player rapper or even if you work at the store This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll loose their contract or be called crazy Bravery is not being afraid Bravery is overcoming your fear for your truth.”

Kanye West reportedly signed a deal with Adidas that lasts until 2026. Adidas has not made a public statement about Kanye West’s comments.
