Ne-Yo’s Wife Files for Divorce, Asks For Both Child/ Spousal Support & Claims Singer Fathered A Baby W/ Another Woman

It looks like Crystal Smith wasn’t playing any games when she said she was leaving her husband Ne-Yo for good this time!

According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Crystal Smith officially filed for divorce on August 1. The filing states,

“the parties separated on or about July 22, 2022, and since that date have continuously lived in a bona fide state of separation.”

In the legal documents, Crystal Smith says that she,

“is entitled to a divorce from [Ne-Yo] upon the ground that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”

She adds,

“[Ne-Yo] has committed the act of adultery.”

Reportedly, in the petition, she demands the court award her temporary and permanent alimony in all forms from Ne-Yo for her support and maintenance. The socialite is seeking child support as well. Per the court documents, Crystal is unemployed because she had an agreement with her soon-to-be ex-husband that she’d stay home to raise their kids. She noted that the “So Sick” singer makes a “significant self-employment income” as a singer, producer, and writer.

Crystal Smith and Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith,  share three underaged children together. However, according to Crystal, Ne-Yo recently fathered another child outside of their marriage.

Crystal adds that their three kids are currently living with her and she would like to keep things that way, which is why she’s also asking for primary physical custody. However, the filing reportedly states she agrees to joint legal custody with Ne-Yo.

In addition to that, the petition continues and notes that Crystal,

“requests that [Ne-Yo] be solely responsible for any and all debts and obligations independently acquired by [Ne-Yo] and that [Ne-Yo] hold [Crystal] harmless for any such debts or obligations.”

She’s seeking an “equitable division” on the property they acquired together during their marriage and also wants Ne-Yo to pay the $25k needed to cover her legal bills.

Ne-Yo has yet to respond in court.
