Iggy Azalea Announces Her Return To Music: I’m Coming Back, Cry About It
It looks like Iggy Azalea is coming out of retirement!
One year after she announced her retirement from music, Iggy Azalea, 32, surprised fans with a new update. On Monday (Aug. 8), the Australian rapper took to Twitter to inform the world that she is indeed making a return to the music industry! She wrote:
“A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted. But what I’ve learned is that even when I’m minding my business, y’all gonna be negative AND nosey. So if I can’t have peace, neither can you. I’m coming back. Cry about it.”

A little over a year ago, Iggy Azalea told fans that her 2021 album “End of an Era” would be her final project so she could take
“a few years to focus on other creative projects and things I’m feeling passionate and inspired by beyond music.”
She also added that she was looking forward to sharing “different sides” of her in the future.
Her latest message didn’t stop there. In a string of tweets, Azalea seemingly took shots at her naysayers with replies like:
“Yup! Gonna be a terrible year for you all 2023 gear up b*tch!,” and
“The birds are chirping and clucking.”

“I’m not gonna talk about dates, direction or anything just know it’s happening and there will be a budget.”

During her time away from music, the “Fancy” rapper created a makeup collection with BH Cosmetics called Totally Plastic, and has focused on raising her 2-year-old son Onyx, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti. She also headlined the halftime show for the New York Knicks’ opening home game at Madison Square Garden last October, an experience she confessed she’d “never been so scared in my life” over.

According to Iggy Azalea, she will continue to release her new music under her own record label ‘Bad Dreams,’ however, the rapper is still seeking a distribution deal.
