Ne-Yo recently spoke on his marriage with his estranged wife Crystal Smith before she decided to walk away from the relationship for good.

In a new trailer for the upcoming episode of “Drink Champs,” R&B singer Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith, seemingly addresses some of the issues he once had with his soon-to-be ex-wife Crystal Smith, 35.

At the beginning of the clip, the record producer spoke on separating from his wife at one point before the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic hit. Ne-Yo said that the effect of the pandemic actually brought the pair closer together. He said,

“Right before the pandemic was when things were at its worse. You know what I’m sayin’. Couldn’t talk to each other. It’s clearly beef, but I’m on tour I’ll see you in three weeks. You know what I’m sayin’, that type of thing.”

Ne-Yo continued,

“So, when the pandemic hit and everybody had to go home, it kind of forced us to sit in each other’s face and talk about the stuff that we just wasn’t talking about.”

As you may already know, Crystal Smith filed for divorce on August 1 and accused the musician of cheating and fathering a child outside of their marriage. The two married in February 2016 and share three underaged children together.
