Rapper Quando Rondo Sustained No Injuries In Shootout That Fatally Killed His Friend, Though Police Believe Him To Be The Intended Target
Prayers up for Quando Rondo and the family and friends of his associate recently murdered.
According to police reports, the Georgia native was involved in an apparent “assassination” attempt this past Friday (August 19th). Though the rapper reportedly did not sustain any injuries, reports state one of the passengers in his vehicle was fatally hit. While police are still investigating the murder, they have stated they believe Quando Rondo, born Tyquian Terrel Bowman, was the intended target. A rep for the 23-year-old has asked for the musician’s privacy to be respected at this time.

Reportedly the incident happened at a gas station in West Hollywood, L.A. around 5:30pm. Rondo and a few associates were filling up their gas tank when a white sedan with three gunmen pulled up and ceaselly opened fire. The “Now Or Never” artist attempted to flee the scene in his black Cadillac, but eventually pulled over after an unidentified passenger began bleeding heavily due to bullet wounds. In video footage of the shooting’s aftermath, Rondo can be seen crying out as his friends body is removed from the vehicle.

Police have yet to confirm the identity of the deceased passenger, though some media outlets have reported the victim to be his friend Lul Pab. Another one of Rondo’s associates, Lul Tim, was charged in connection to the 2020 shooting death of Chicago rapper King Von.
Von was gunned down outside of Atlanta nightclub after an alleged altercation with Rondo’s entourage. Rondo subsequently began receiving death threats in connection to Von’s murder, to which he reportedly responded:
“However some sh*t come to me, that’s how I’m about to go about that sh*t….Death threat all you want to, bro, f*ck that sh*t, that’s just some words, my n***a. Go do an action.”
Police have not connected the recent incident to Von’s murder at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the recent tragedy.
