Rapper Kyle The Hooligan, The Alleged Voice Behind A.I. Rapper FN Meka, Claims Robot Creators Never Paid Him For Using His Sound: I’m Glad They A** Got Canceled, That’s Karma
It looks like the drama surrounding the controversial A.I. rapper FN Meka is just getting started.
Yesterday (Aug. 23) rapper Kyle The Hooligan, who is claiming to be the alleged voice behind the A.I. rapper FN Meka, came forward and said that he was never paid for his sound being used in the project. In a video shared online, he explained,
“Basically it was like, they came to be with this A.I. sh*t and was like, would I want to be the voice of it? And I thought it was go be like some collaboration. They promised me equity into the company, percentages, all this stuff. So I’m thinking, okay – this about to be like some collab, something different for me so I can do my music and be on some A.I. stuff with this FN Meka character.”
He continued,
“Next thing I know, n*ggas just ghosted me. Like, used my voice, used my sound, used the culture, and literally just left me high and dry. I ain’t get a dime off of nothing.”
He added,
“They got record deals [and] all this stuff. I wasn’t involved in no meetings or none of that, which is f*cked up. So honestly, I’m glad they a** got canceled. That’s karma for they a**.”
In a separate video, Kyle The Hooligan shared the alleged audio files between himself and the creators of FN Meka.
As previously reported, after barely a week of signing to Capitol Records, FN Meka was cut from the label. In a released statement a Capitol Music Group spokesperson said,
“CMG has severed ties with the FN Meka project, effective immediately. We offer our deepest apologies to the Black community for our insensitivity in signing this project without asking enough questions about equity and the creative process behind it. We thank those who have reached out to us with constructive feedback in the past couple of days — your input was invaluable as we came to the decision to end our association with the project.”
the FN Meka project creators have yet to reveal who is the voice behind the A.I. but they did confirm that the robot is voiced by a black person. In a series of alleged DMs from the robot, they said:
