DaBaby Reacts To Drastically Low First Week Sales Projections For ‘Baby on Baby 2’: Not Bad For Da BlackBalled Baby

DaBaby’s reputation is seemingly affecting his music sales.

According to reports, DaBaby’s new album “Baby on Baby 2,” released on Sept. 23, is expected to move only 16,500 units in its first week out — which would reportedly land the project outside of the top 20 slots on the Billboard 200 chart. However, the Cleveland native seems unbothered by these low numbers. The 30-year-old shared a fan page reporting the expected numbers and wrote,

“Not bad for Da BlackBalled Baby.”

The numbers on the rapper’s recent project mark a huge drop-off from his previous LP “Blame It On Baby,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. “Blame It On Baby” also sold 124,000 units in its first week back in April of 2020.

The fall-off surrounding his recent project seemingly doesn’t come as a shock to the rapper being that he has made headlines for his controversial statements. As previously reported, back in July of 2021 DaBaby, born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, made questionable comments regarding HIV during his Rolling Loud performance. While on stage, he announced:

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in 2 or 3 weeks put a cellphone light in the air.”

He added:

“Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*ck in the parking lot put ya cellphone light in the air. Keep it f*cking real!”

In addition to his comments at Rolling Loud, many people aren’t too pleased about the controversial statements on “Baby On Baby 2″ about Megan Thee Stallion. The album features a track called “Boogeyman” where the rapper claims he had sexual relations with Megan Thee Stallion around the time she was allegedly shot by Tory Lanez. Throughout the track, he recites:

“You play with me that sh*t was childish/The day before she said that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f*ckin on Megan Thee Stallion.”
