Charles Barkley Signs 10-Year Contract w/ TNT In $100 Million Deal

NBA TV analyst Charles Barkley has secured a massive 10-year deal with TNT that is expected to reach well into nine figures.

According to reports, former basketball star Charles Barkley has signed a deal worth “in excess of $100 million and could approach $200 million.” The 59-year-old NBA legend stars on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” and currently has three years left on a contract that pays him $10 million per season, which is set to expire after the 2024-25 season.

Reportedly, the exact amount Charles Barkley will earn is not yet known if he fulfills the entire contract. However, the former athlete could decide to retire from TV before the deal ends.

The Emmy Award-winning studio show, which airs following each NBA telecast on TNT, is hosted by Ernie Johnson, with analysis from Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and NBA champions Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal. Barkley shared,

“We’re all a big family – Ernie, Kenny and Shaquille are brothers to me – and I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for them and all the amazing people who work on our show. I’m not gonna lie, though, this is a life-altering deal…and I’m blessed to be able to do live television for a living.”

Barkley played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association for three teams. Though shorter than the typical power forward, he used his strength and aggressiveness to become one of the NBA’s most dominant rebounders. He was a versatile player who had the ability to score, create plays, and defend. Barkley was an 11-time NBA All-Star, an 11-time member of the All-NBA Team, and the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP).

He works as a studio expert for its coverage of NBA games (for which he has won four Sports Emmy Awards).
