Kandi Burruss – Mama Joyce Says She’d Replace The Reality Star’s Husband Todd Tucker w/ Someone On Her “Same Financial Scale”: Someone With A Decent Job

Looks like Kandi Burruss‘ mother Mama Joyce is still not over her daughter’s chosen husband.

During the Bravo networks’s annual conference BravoCon, the reality TV mama offered her opinion on who she would’ve like to see her daughter marry. Kandi Burruss, 46, married Todd Tucker, 49, in April of 2014. The couple are parents to four children in total and share two together. Mama Joyce has actively championed against the union since its beginning, which is played out over the course of Burruss‘ time on Real Housewives Of Atlanta.

Responding to an attendee who asked who she would’ve set Kandi up with, Mama Joyce stated:

“If I could have replaced Todd, I probably would’ve picked anyone that had a decent job,”

She continued:

“Somebody that was maybe in the same in the same business, in the financial realm that she was in. I just think that she should’ve married someone that was on the same financial scale.”

Since 2009 when Burruss first made her reality TV show appearance, the grammy award winning artist has battled with her mom over her choice in men. Back then, the Xscape member was dating Ashley ‘AJ’ Jewell much to her mother’s opposition. After the two became engaged, Jewell was tragically murdered outside of an Atlanta nightclub.

Subsequently, the “No Scrubs” writer began dating RHOA staff member Todd Tucker, who has also received the short end of his wife’s mother’s blessing. Back in 2020, the mother and son in law had a subtle feud after Joyce suggested leaving her granddaughter Riley as her beneficiary to ensure she’d be taken care of following her death, suggesting Tucker was untrustworthy of caring for her. Riley is Kandi’s eldest daughter from a previous relationship.

Despite several beefs and her recent “Todd replacement” comment, Joyce was asked to say three nice things about Tucker during a BravoCon special of Watch What Happens Live w/Andy Cohen. Though she could only compliment him “still being short, trimming his beard, and being nice to his children”, the TV personality did insist that they are on much better terms.
