Lil Baby Earns 3rd Consecutive #1 On Billboard 200 Chart w/ Latest Album ‘It’s Only Me,’ Bringing In The Largest Amount Of First-Week U.S. Sales Of His Career
Lil Baby is at the top of the game right now… literally!
On Friday (Oct. 14), Lil Baby unleashed his newest album, It’s Only Me, with guest features from Nardo Wick, Young Thug, Fridayy, Future, Rylo Rodriguez, Jeremih, EST Gee, and Pooh Shiesty.
According to reports, the project landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, marking Lil Baby’s third consecutive album to debut at the pinnacle of the hit log. His second full-length work, My Turn, and 2021 collaborative effort, The Voice of the Heroes, with Lil Durk previously led the list.
Not only is It’s Only Me monumental for the Atlanta-based rapper but this year in music as a whole. With 216,000 equivalent album units (209,000 dedicated to streaming equivalent units), the masterpiece is now noted for having the third-biggest streaming week for an album in 2022.
Including It’s Only Me, Lil Baby has had a total of six artistic endeavors to grace Billboard’s Top 10. This album has proven controversial for many reasons, as the 27-year-old (seemingly) addressed his QC affiliate, fellow lyricist Quavo.
If you didn’t know, last year, it was suspected that Lil Baby and Quavo’s ex, “ICY GRL” rapstress Saweetie, had a rumored fling. Following photos of the two, with the same background setting, fans soon came to the conclusion that Lil Baby had taken Saweetie on a high-fashion shopping spree. There was also an image of Saweetie sitting on a man’s lap, which appeared to be Lil Baby.
On his track “Stand On It,” Baby raps over the beat:
“I don’t want your b*tch we can’t swap out.”
He continues the subliminal statements on another song called “Not Finished,” where he alludes that the cryptic flicks of their outing (shared to Saweetie’s Instagram Story) were uploaded without his knowledge.
“I’m tellin’, I’m braggin’ her around. She post a picture without my permission. Got me in some sh*t, man, these women is wild. She f*ck*n’ n*gg*s, but think I don’t know. That sh*t really a joke man, lil’ mama’s a clown.”
Despite airing his feelings out about the situation on this album, it seems Lil Baby is now focused on more positive things at the moment–like having one of the most successful albums this fall.
