‘RHOP’s’ Candiace Dillard-Bassett’s Husband Addresses Gizelle Bryant’s Claims That He ‘Made Her Feel Uncomfortable’: I Was Angry Because That’s Not My Personality

Chris Bassett is speaking out against Gizelle Bryant’s accusations, which portray him as a “messy husband.”

In a recent episode of “Real Housewives Of Potomac,” Gizelle Bryant sat down with co-star Karen Huger to figure out if she overstepped by telling Candiace Dillard-Bassett that her husband, Chris Bassett, made her feel uncomfortable during a private chat they had at last year’s show reunion. Karen Huger admitted:

“What I heard was very disturbing. A comfort zone that does not exist for you, where Chris is concerned and Chris think’s that you’re more comfortable than you are.

Amid Gizelle Bryant agreeing with her, Karen Huger said:

“Chris probably owes you an apology.”

Gizelle blurted out:

“Thank you! And so that’s my issue.”

During the same episode, Chris Bassett and Candiace Dillard-Bassett had their own sit-down to break down Gizelle’s allegations. Candiace Dillard-Bassett — who was in the process of an egg-freezing journey at the time of filming — shared:

“The stuff with Gizelle is stressing me out and stress can contribute negatively to producing enough eggs. How are you feeling about everything?”

Chris admitted:

“First I was angry. Like, why you wanna make something now out of nothing? I was angry because that’s not my personality. I am actually always looking to make people comfortable.”

He continued:

“You can do everything that you think you’re doing right to make somebody feel comfortable but you don’t know what they been through or what their past is. So when the conversation turns to ‘luring’ or ‘setting up,’ the word usage is upsetting and I didnt even ask to go to her room. I said ‘Gizelle can we talk?’ and she said ‘yeah, let’s go to my room.’”

Candiace asked for clarification:

“So she suggested going to your room?”

Her husband replied:

“99% sure that’s how that went down.”

However, Gizelle has a different side to the story. She explained to Karen:

“So he comes up to me, he was like, you know, ‘can I talk to you?’ ‘Sure!’ He said ‘well can we go to your room?’ So I open the door and I realized my glam had left.

The clip went back to Chris’s point of view. He shared:

“Theres nobody in there. So I even suggested [we] leave the door open. I don’t need anybody, you know, suggesting anything else. She was like ‘yeah, I don’t need any rumors like that going on about me either.’”

Gizelle then shared:

“I’m uncomfortable. I’m in a hotel room with a married man and it is his word against mine as to what’s happening in this room.

Karen asked:

“How we go from conversation in the room to his word against yours? You and Chris are friends. Did he touch you?”

Gizelle admitted:

“He did not touch me. The fact that it was happening. What I do remember was saying to myself ‘I don’t feel good and I want him to leave.’ and I said ‘can you see if they’re ready for me to come back?’”

She added:

“He immediately left.”

Chris reflected:

“Maybe she was uncomfortable but I know that I’ve never been anything but nice to her. I mean she references my penis every chance she gets.”
