Drake Issues Cease & Desist To ‘Fake Drake’ After The Impersonator Racks Up Thousands In Appearance Fees: Your Actions Are Unwarranted, Unwelcome, & Unacceptable

Looks like the Certified Lover Boy has had enough of his imposters.

According to one of his more well-known impersonators, widely known as Fake Drake, the real Canadian music star, Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, recently issued the poser a cease and desist notice. The Grammy-winning artist’s look alike, who previously went by the Instagram handle ‘Izzy Drake,’ posted the letter allegedly sent by the OVO founder’s legal team, warning him against using the rapper’s likeness.

In the post, Fake Drake shared the seemingly official document that came from the musician’s music label OVO Sound. The letter reads:

“Dear IzzyyDrake, this letter serves as a notice of your unauthorized use of the trademark, ‘OVO’ to promote your brand and likeness, as well as your unauthorized fabrication of media which is Per Se damaging and defamatory to our brand. Your conducted actions are unwarranted, unwelcome, and unacceptable,”

It continues:

“In addition, this shall serve as a pre-suit letter demanding that you provide us written assurance within 7 days that you will cease and desist from making any further factually untrue statements involving OVO Sound and/or Drake, and that you will no longer fabricate media that portrays the aforementioned Trademarks. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Fake Drake caught the attention of social media users everywhere after he went viral attending a Miami club event back in October 2021. The celebrity impersonator was seen on camera partying it up with celebs like Tory Lanez, Justin Laboy, and even Lil Wayne at LIV nightclub. Following the event, the poser went on to impersonator stardom, alleging that he began charging $5,000 appearance fees to attend shows and events. A month later, Fake Drake claimed to be making double the original fee.

However, the impersonator’s fame didn’t last long. Shortly after, Instagram deactivated the ‘Izzy Drake’ account, leaving the impersonator without the use of his largest platform. Earlier this year, Fake Drake also went on to publicly challenge the real Drake to a $1 million boxing match.

Fake Drake claimed he’d end his impersonations if the musician accepted the challenge. The “Honestly Nevermind” artist was seemingly not too fond of the idea, however, as Fake Drake later revealed the real Drake “threatened” him by offering to “slap him for free”.

At this time it doesn’t seem the real Drizzy has spoken publicly about the cease and desist. It is reported, however, that Izzy Drake has officially dropped the ‘Drake‘ from his persona.
