R&B singer Al B. Sure is on the road to recovery according to his son, Al B. Sure Jr.

In a heartfelt birthday post shared to social media on Sunday (October 30), Al B. Sure Jr. gave thanks for the many birthday wishes he received on his Instagram page while updating his fans and followers on the current status of his world.

The 36-year-old singer revealed that he is thankful but also “out of it” because his father, musician Al B. Sure, had been hospitalized in a coma for two months. Al B. Sure Jr. shared a series of photos of himself along with images of him and his father and captioned the post,

“Thank your every 1 for the bday wishes!! Been kinda out of it and in my own world!! @officialalbsure POPS BEEN hospitalized FOR 2 months and he just made it out!! So I’m much better and ready to get back on my sh*t! It’s time to get the f*ck up pop!! We got Sh*t to do!!! And countries to visit! Thank u for all the concerns and worries about my family! Today is my day but this is for my pops! All I want for him is to get out that f*ckin hospital!! We need u big homie!! I love all of y’all! And appreciate all of u! And every 1 I touched and shared energy with around the world on my krazy journey! This for y’all!! And to my family I love y’all so much! Thanks for motivating me and making me feel loved always! As previously reported, earlier this year New Jack Swing singer Al B. Sure, born Albert Brown III, was hospitalized and set to undergo surgery. He has not disclosed what the surgery was for but has been updating his fans on his continued progress via his own Instagram account.

Al B. Sure’s most recent post on his Instagram page appears to have been uploaded from the hospital. In the caption, the “Nite and Day” singer shared his gratitude for everyone sending him well wishes while acknowledging the hard work medical professionals exert on a day-to-day basis. The 54-year-old song-writer wrote,

Waking up daily to monitors, wires and machines keeping you stable is a new experience.
