Viola Davis Set To Produce & Star In Action-Thriller ‘G20’ From Amazon Studios & MRC Film

Viola Davis doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon!

According to reports, the “How to Get Away with Murder” leading lady will be producing and starring in the upcoming feature film ‘G20’ from Amazon Studios and MRC. The action-thriller, which will be directed by Patricia Riggen, is a film about terrorists overtaking the G20 Summit. During the movie, American President Taylor Sutton, portrayed by Viola Davis, uses her statecraft and military experience to defend her family and the leaders of the world.

Noah and Logan Miller wrote the script, while Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss revised the work. In addition to Viola Davis, Andrew Lazar is also a producer alongside Julius Tennon. “G20” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world. Sharing her thoughts on Viola Davis being a part of the film, the head of movies at Amazon Studios, Julie Rapaport said:

“Viola is truly a one-of-a-kind talent both in front of and behind the camera, and we can’t wait to watch her bring the dynamic character that is President Sutton to life.”

Rapaport added:

“We look forward to working with the incredible filmmaking team and our partners at MRC Film to deliver this exciting movie to our Prime Video audience around the world.”

MRC film Co-Presidents Brye Adler and Jonathan Golfman chimed in on giving Viola her flowers:

“Viola bringing her unmatched strength, depth and humor to this kind of fun, popcorn movie is something we cannot wait to see.” 

They added:

“In Patricia, we have the perfect director to balance a grounded character story with a satisfying genre film. We are thrilled to be partnering with Prime Video to help bring this movie to a global audience.”

You can also expect to see Viola Davis in Prime Video’s untitled Nike drama from director Ben Affleck and Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games” prequel “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
