EXCLUSIVE: Tabitha Brown Shares How Hearing The ‘Voice of God’ Made Her Give Her Hollywood Dreams Another Try: I Convinced Myself That This Was It

Tabitha Brown was delayed but not denied!

During a conversation with Jasmine Brand, CEO of the theJasmineBRAND, Tabitha Brown exclusively shared how she heard God‘s voice, and she knew then that she couldn’t give up on her dreams.

In response to what made her decide to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, Tabitha Brown said:

“I didn’t want to act my whole life. Before ’98, when I came to California, I was in Orange County, a lady had told me I could rent a room from her, one of my mama’s people that she knew. I was living with her, and renting a room out, but she was pretty much taking all my money. I was young, 19.”

Brown then revealed that she was seeing Chance Brown at the time, who is now her husband. He had come to see her, and while he was there, he told her that since she wasn’t living near Hollywood, working two jobs and struggling in Orange County, California, didn’t make sense. Brown got married and became pregnant shortly after returning to their home state of North Carolina after Chance persuaded her to do so in order to save money.

She continued,

“That one year plan [to save money] turned into five years. We ended up having a baby, got married, and had all these new responsibilities and jobs and things. And I really convinced myself [that] I can’t have that dream anymore. You know [when] you’re young and you have a baby and you from a small town, it happens all the time. ‘They’re like OK now, what you do is get a job. Y’all get married and have a house, and live happily every after, this is your life.’ I convinced myself that this was it.”

Brown recalled once feeling as though there had been an earthquake in Greensboro and hearing a voice that sounded like thunder warn her, “This is not the life I planned for you.” Although it frightened her, she knelt down and prayed for a sign.

“Later that day, we were in the car going to the mall, and on the radio, the DJ, his name was Buster Brown, he came on and he was like ‘Hey, I’m holding auditions, I got a new TV show, I’m looking for a female co-host’. And I went crazy in the car, ’cause no auditions ever happened [in Greensboro].”

Brown claimed she saw that as a sign from God, and as a result, she went on to audition and be hired. She did that for nearly a year, picking up production and hosting skills, and after a successful run, she moved to Los Angeles.

Brown is a social media influencer and actress. She produces web videos that combine humor, motivational speech, and veganism, boasting over four million followers on both TikTok and Instagram.
