Rita Ora Denies Rumors That She’s The Woman Beyonce Called Out For Having An Affair w/ Her Husband & Referenced As ‘Becky’ On 2016 Hit Song ‘Sorry’: I Have Also Got A Lot Of Credentials To Sustain My Respect

Rita Ora isn’t “Becky with the good hair.”

According to reports, Rita Ora appeared on Louis Theroux’s podcast where the British singer claimed she isn’t the woman Beyonce referred to in her 2016 hit song “Sorry.” In the song, featured on Beyonce’s sixth studio album “Lemonade,” the Grammy-Award winner sings, “he better call Becky with the good hair,” referencing someone Jay-Z allegedly cheated on her with.

Louis Theroux wondered if Beyonce was referring to Rita Ora after the 32-year-old was spotted posting a picture of herself on Snapchat with lemons on her bra and a “J” around her neck after the song was released. Ora admitted:

“Oh my God, it literally was a coincidence.”

Denying that she and Jay-Z had been involved in an affair, she explained:

“I didn’t even think about it, I swear.”

She added,

“And it wasn’t a J, it was an R. They flipped it round and then it looked like a J.”

As you may already know. On Beyonce’s Grammy-Award-winning album “Lemonade,” the 41-year-old made multiple allusions to her husband of 14 years cheating on her. Ora continued:

“No, it had nothing [to do with it]. No, that was my own design with an underwear company called Tezenis that I was working with.”

She added:

“This is what I mean, man – a pinch of salt – you’ve got to take things with a pinch of salt. And that’s what’s insane.”

Ora stated that she would rather speak about other aspects of her life and career instead of false accusations. She said:

“It’s interesting ’cause I feel like everyone is very interested in my personal life, like everything else is not worthy enough. Which, sometimes, is frustrating because I have also got a lot of credentials to sustain my respect.”
