Nipsey Hussle Class Coming To A Los Angeles University Where The Late Rapper Once Taught, Course Will ‘Focus On Hussle’s Genius & Authenticity In His Approach To Business & Life’
A Nipsey Hussle class will be arriving in Los Angeles soon.
On Wednesday (Dec. 14) David Gross, a longtime business partner of Nipsey Hussle, took to Instagram to announce that “The Marathon Continues: Building Brand Through Culture” course is set to arrive at Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration in 2023. Nipsey Hussle and his business partner previously served as instructors at the school in 2017.
In a moving post sharing the exciting news, David Gross wrote:
“Next month the TMC takeover of higher education begins with a class I’ll be teaching ‘The Marathon Continues: Building Brand Through Culture’ at Loyola Marymount’s business school.”

David Gross continued:
“The class will focus on Hussle’s genius and authenticity in his approach to business and life.”
He then shared:
“I gotta give flowers to Mitchell Hamilton (@thefreshprofessor), a tenured professor and the head of the Marketing Department at Loyola Marymount’s business school (@lmucba). He reached out to me and Nip in 2017 and asked if we’d teach a class at the business school. He gave us carte blanche, with the caveat that we were authentic and didn’t water anything down because we were in a university environment. The class was a hit, and it lead to a second class the following semester. This was Spring of 2019, so we never got to finish the class. #LLNHTG.”

The late rapper’s course will focus on the strategies and tactics behind Nipsey Hussle’s success and will include guest speakers each week. The description of the class, which is set to begin in January for the spring semester, reads:
“This course focuses on brand building strategies and tactics that are motivated and driven through cultural influence. Weekly guest lectures will be led in-person by some of the most influential people in the music and entertainment industry. The lecture series follows the legacy left behind by the late, great Professor Nipsey Hussle who taught LMU A-LIST students the art of branding ‘The Marathon Way.’”

According to David Gross, Loyola Marymount University always wanted Nipsey to teach another class with the upcoming “Marathon Continues” course honoring his legacy. Gross said:
“Mitch has reached out to me several times in the following years, extending the opportunity to return and teach another class. He always told me I could teach whatever I wanted if it would both challenge and inspire his students.”
He continued:
“It’s finally time like to go back this Spring to teach a the class that honors Nip’s enormous legacy, and analyzes how he was able to put a dent in the universe by creating the most resonant brand to come out of the culture #TMC.”
As previously reported, Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was fatally shot in front of his Marathon Clothing store on March 31, 2019, in South Los Angeles. In July, Eric Holder, 32, was convicted of killing the Crenshaw rapper.
