Akon Defends Nick Cannon’s Unique Family Dynamics, Says Entertainer Shouldn’t Worry About Attending Every Recital For His Multiple Kids Because ‘That’s A White Man’s Thing’
While many may judge Nick Cannon’s lifestyle choices, Akon is “1,000 percent” in support of them!
Akon recently appeared on “The Zeze Millz Show,” where he shared his thoughts on Nick Cannon’s expansive family tree and the controversy surrounding it. When asked by media personality ZeZe Millz if he agrees with the way Nick has been “spreading his seed,” The Senegalese-American singer replied:
“I agree with him 1,000 percent. That’s how life is supposed to be.”
The 49-year-old added:
“He’s rich. He’s responsible. He takes care of every one of those children. And the baby mothers are with it. And they hurt for nothing. And they live comfortably.”

As you may already know, the “Wild N’ Out” host shares 11 children, and has one on the way, with six different women.
Nick is the dad to 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He shares sons Golden (5 years old) and Rise (11 weeks old) and daughter Powerful (2 years old), with Brittany Bell. With Abby De La Rosa, the comedian shares daughter Beautiful (1 month) and 18-month-old twins Zion and Zillion.
In addition, Nick shares a 5-month-old son Legendary with model Bre Tiesi and a daughter Onyx, 5 months, with photographer LaNisha Cole. He’s currently expecting a child with model Alyssa Scott. Unfortunately, the co-parents’ first child, son Zen, died from brain cancer at 5 months old in December 2020.

After Millz pointed out that it’s wrong for men to believe that financial support is the only thing a father needs to provide, the “Locked Up” singer claimed that theory doesn’t apply to Nick Cannon. Akon shared:
“He’s there for every single one of those kids. I got nine kids and I’m there for every one of mine.”
Millz followed up and asked:
“So every single time, you’re at every single recital?”
Akon replied:
“No, that’s a white man’s thing. Who gives a f*ck about a recital?”

Although the actor has been scrutinized for having multiple children and baby mothers, Akon insisted Cannon is living life the right way. He elaborated:
“No, seriously. Listen, my job is to raise my kids, to be responsible, to be understanding, to protect their mother, to give a hand with their father, and to assist with family planning, and to be responsible adults … Now guess what? While I’m taking care of my responsibility to make sure the family has a roof over their head and food, if I have the time to do that and show love, yes, I will do that. But my responsibility is to make sure they grow up responsible and strong.”
Akon doubled down on this stance and said:
“You can’t expect a man to conquer the world, if he’s there with his children.”
When asked if having a smaller family size would make world traveling easier, Akon answered:
“That’s so womanistic. What man do you know is gonna run around with his children? You know how weak that looks? Who does that?”
