Gervonta Davis – Vanessa Posso Retracts Claims That Boxer Harmed Her & Their Daughter: I Made An Unnecessary Call To Law Enforcement In An Intense Moment
Gervonta Davis‘ ex-girlfriend is retracting allegations that he abused her and their daughter — a statement that comes after the world champion boxer denied doing so.
Vanessa Posso posted a statement to her Instagram Story on Friday (Dec. 30) in which she hinted that the domestic incident involving the father of her child had gone too far. She claimed both of them were to blame for the argument that resulted in him being arrested, but they are working on moving forward.
Posso said,
“These past days have been hurtful, and extremely exhausting for all parties involved. I pride myself on being extremely private; this situation was the last thing I wanted to be made public.”
She added,
“The state of our relationship has been in a fragile space and Gervonta and I were both at fault for the argument. While the emotions were running high I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment while I was frantic. Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter. Today, we have sought the help necessary to move forward with our lives. I am confident that we will succeed within or co-parenting dynamic with the counseling provided to us.”
As previously reported, Gervonta Davis, once again, made headlines after being arrested on battery charges in Florida on Tuesday (Dec. 27).
Gervonta Davis‘ arrest by Parkland police for one count of violence resulting in bodily harm was documented in Broward County inmate records.
According to reports, Florida officials assert that the unbeaten WBA lightweight titleist roughed up a woman and smacked her with a “closed hand.” The claimed victim suffered an abrasion on the inside of her upper lip as a result of the altercation.
Davis “did actually and intentionally touch and strike” the victim “against her will,” and “did intentionally cause bodily harm to her,” according to the court documents. He also allegedly slapped the woman on the right side of her head.
The 911 call made by Posso was subsequently released, and she could be heard saying,
“Please help me; I need help, please. I’m trying to go home, I have a baby in the car and attacked me … He’s going to kill me.”
In a lengthy post, that has since been deleted, Davis vehemently denied the accusations. He said,
“Do no let these people misguide you all on this bulls—t. This was just yesterday moments before me and my child mother had (an) argument! Watching frozen with my oldest daughter. I never put my hands on my child mother nor my f—kig daughter are you f—king crazy, I’m not a monster. I been quiet for too long.”
He continued,
“I don’t have media team, PR, good lawyer spokesman, nothing off that. That’s the only reason I’m doing this now! Just to clear my name! I been doing s—t on my own since I started this s—t. These people done put out so much stuff aired this everywhere and have a f—king helicopter flying over my house now as I write this becuz they look at this s—t as money to them and trying to get as much money as possible.”
Davis added,
“They rush to my child mother offering her 50k just to pressure charges. Like they did with my first child mother, so bad they couldn’t get her so they got a lady they calmed she was into the mess also a lady that known for her suing people for money reason.”
Davis also shared photos of what appeared to be his toothbrush covered in “hard sh*t from my daughter’s pamper,” claiming his child mother was the culprit.
The incident involving Posso comes just before Davis‘ WBA “Regular” lightweight championship defense against Hector Luis Garcia of the Dominican Republic. The fight is slated to be the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View event on Saturday (Jan. 7).
