Young Thug’s Father Says Rapper Should Reject Plea Deal If Offered One In YSL RICO Case
Young Thug’s father recently discussed his son’s upcoming RICO case and said the rapper should reject a plea deal if offered one.
In a new interview with Infamous Sylvia, Young Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr., reportedly defended his son’s innocence and said that if prosecutors offered the jailed rapper a plea deal prior to trial, he should reject it.

During the interview, which reportedly took place on Friday (December 30) via Twitter, Infamous Sylvia asked Jeffery Williams Sr. a viewer question,
“[Should] Young Thug take a plea if he is offered one?”
At the 56-minute mark in the broadcasted interview, Jeffery Williams Sr. responded,
“I can’t answer that because I’m not him. I’m his father. My son is not guilty of a lot of things that these people [prosecutors] probably sayin’ about him.”

He continued,
“As a father, if they came to him with a plea deal and he left it up to me to give him the advice, I would tell him, ‘No.’”
Reports state that at one point in the interview, Williams Sr. said he will be present in the courtroom every day of the upcoming RICO trial in support of his son. He shared,
“I’m a parent. I’m a father. I’m not that daddy who just there. Right now, it’s me and him against the world.”

Young Thug’s father’s interview comes in the wake of several of the rapper’s alleged associates taking plea deals.
As previously reported, Mounk Tounk (real name Antonio Sledge) was the seventh YSL affiliate to secure his release from prison. Last month he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the judge sentenced him to 15 years on probation.
Reportedly, Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) was one of the first people to take a plea deal in the case. The “Me & You” rapper entered what’s known as an Alford plea, in which he pleaded guilty because it was in his best interest while maintaining his innocence.

Gunna
As you may already know, Atlanta rapper Young Thug (real name Jeffery Williams) and 28 associates, including fellow rapper Gunna, were arrested in May 2022 on conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) charges. Prosecutors claim Thug is a co-founder of the alleged street gang YSL. The indictment also gives a detailed account of various violent crimes alleged members of YSL are accused of, in addition to documents, social media posts, and rap lyrics by Thug that reference YSL.

Thug’s RICO trial is scheduled to begin on January 9, 2023.
