Young Thug – Seventh YSL Member Takes Plea Deal As Rapper Remains Behind Bars, Agrees To Testify If Necessary

The high-profile RICO case against YSL is seemingly shaping up to be a case strictly against Young Thug (real name Jeffery Williams), as another affiliate of the alleged street gang has been offered a plea deal.

According to reports, Mounk Tounk (real name Antonio Sledge) is the seventh YSL affiliate to secure his release from prison. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the judge sentenced him to 15 years on probation.

Reportedly, by admitting that YSL members murdered Donovan Thomas Jr. on behalf of YSL in 2015 and that he and other members of the group traveled to Young Thug‘s home after the crime, Sledge may have greatly hindered Thug’s chances of getting out of prison.

Sledge claimed that after Thomas Jr. was killed, Young Thug provided for him and other associates by paying them money so they could “lay low.” He also allegedly confessed that YSL associates sold drugs out of two gas stations.

Sledge consented to testify at the trial, slated for January, if called to do so. However, he is permitted to exercise his Fifth Amendment rights while under oath.

As previously reported, Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) was one of the first people to take a plea deal in the case. The “Me & You” rapper entered what’s known as an Alford plea, in which he pleaded guilty because it was in his best interest while maintaining his innocence.

Gunna was ultimately sentenced to five years in prison, with one being commuted to time served. The remaining four years of his sentence have been suspended and will be subject to special conditions including 500 hours of community service.

In a statement, he said,

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.”

Gunna‘s statement also addressed why he first joined YSL in 2016, noting that he didn’t consider it a gang, but

“more like a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations.”

He added,

“My focus of YSL was entertainment — rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community.”

Rapper Unfoonk (real name Quantavious Grier), who is known as Young Thug’s brother, was the fifth out of the 28 initial defendants to enter a negotiated guilty plea. Unfoonk reportedly pleaded guilty to one count of violating the state’s RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. His initial 12-year sentence was split into two years being commuted to time served and the other 10 years on probation.

In addition, he will have to serve 750 hours of community service, maintain a curfew, and can have no contact with Young Thug or others involved in the indictment.

Like GunnaUnfoonk wasted no time in letting the world know he did not snitch to be set free. In a post shared online, he wrote,

“[laughing emojis] D*MN PEOPLE REALLY THINK I TOLD ON MY OWN BROTHER SMH, SHOW ME IN MY PAPER WORK I TOLD ON ANYBODY LOL, IM NOT EVEN FENNA ENTERTAIN ANY OF IT, PEACE AND BLESSINGS”

Though plea agreements are increasingly being made, it seems unlikely that Young Thug will receive one. Prosecutors reportedly perceive him as “the target of this case” and are aiming to convict him in order to put him in jail.
