‘RHOP’ Candiace Dillard Says Her Husband Chris Was ‘Very Understanding’ As She Shares How She Prepped Him For Her Steamy Sex Scenes In Scripted Series ‘Hush’

Candiace Dillard is bringing the heat — and the sex scenes — as she makes the jump into scripted television, and she’s prepared her husband along the way.

During a recent interview, “Real Housewives Of Potomac” star revealed on how she prepared her other half Chris Bassett for the fictional X-rated scenes she’s a part of for Allblk’s series “Hush.”

Candiace Dillard said,

“It’s so funny. When I posted the trailer on my Instagram, I feel like I had like 500,000 cousins who were like, ‘Ooh, I’m tellin’ your man, girl!’ It was hilarious.”

She continued,

“Everybody’s like, ‘Oh my God, does Chris know that this is happening?’ It’s like, well, yes. It’s just pretend. I’m acting. Hundreds of actors simulate intimacy on TV and in film every day. It’s OK.”

Syleena Gibson (portrayed by Candiace Dillard), in the eight-episode drama series, is referred to as a trophy wife who takes on risks as she maintains her marriage to attorney Terrell Gibson (portrayed by Lanre Idewu), by fulfilling his dreams — both alone and with others.

The former pageant queen shared that because she has been acting for over a decade, sensual material was “inevitable” and that her husband had plenty of time to mentally prepare himself.

Candiace said,

“Chris was very understanding. We’ve talked about, before, getting to this place because I’ve been acting for 15 years. So it was inevitable that I would get to a place where it would be time for me to, you know, portray a character who is intimate with a partner.”

She added,

“He definitely was like, ‘I don’t think I’m gonna be able to watch it, but I love you and support you.’ And we kind of left it there. … I did ask him and I said, ‘Did you want to read the script?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m good. I trust you and I’m good.'”

“Hush” centers on renowned marital and sex therapist Dr. Draya Logan (played by Joyful Drake), a self-described “relationship fixer,” who gets caught up in a web of lies, sex, and murder that could cost her everything she’s worked hard for. It also stars Caryn Ward and “Love & Hip Hop” star Erica Mena.
