Sheryl Lee Ralph Will Perform At The Super Bowl

It looks like Sheryl Lee Ralph has landed herself a spot at this year’s Super Bowl!

On Tuesday (Jan.24) the NFL announced that in addition to Rihanna’s halftime performance, fans can expect to see Sheryl Lee Ralph singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before the game. The organization also revealed that Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem, and Babyface will sing “America the Beautiful.”

The ‘Abbot Elementary’ star took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. Sherly Lee Ralph shared what appeared to be a promotional photo and captioned it,

“Come on now. Don’t you ever give up on you baby! I’ll be singing Lift Every Voice and Sing at Super Bowl LVII – See you there.”

Sheryl Lee Ralph has been full of wins lately. The Broadway legend is both a 2023 Golden Globe nominee and a Critics’ Choice Award winner. She also won an Emmy this past September for her portrayal of Barbara Howard on ‘Abbott Elementary.’

Recently, on the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes, Ralph gave some advice to her younger self while also seemingly taking a dig at the Kardashians. When asked to give her 15-year-old self advice, the actress shared:

“There’s nothing wrong with your nose. There’s nothing wrong with the shade of your skin.”

The 66-year-old continued:

“There’s nothing wrong with the way your hair grows out of your head. And there is certainly nothing wrong with your lips because there will be some people called [the] Kardashians and they will pay 10 thousand dollars for your lips.”
